For nine seasons, I have been designing sound and composing music at Actors Theatre of Louisville - my work has included designing commissioned shows for the nationally acclaimed Apprentice/Intern Company (including works by Greg Kotis, Kristoffer Diaz) selected sound designs for the Humana Festival of New American plays, including Ameriville by Universes (currently on tour), Neighborhood 3: requisition of Doom and original music for Zoe Kazan's critically acclaimed Absalom in 2009. Other favorite sound designs at Actors include Santaland Diaries (dir. Sean Daniels), 9 Parts of Desire (dir. KJ Sanchez) and a Gem of the Ocean (dir. Ron OJ Parsons) and Actors Theatre's annual production of Dracula (dir. William McNulty), which includes original music.
Outside of Actors Theatre, my sound designs have been heard at Southern Repertory Theatre in New Orleans, Madison Repertory Theatre in Madison, WI, Stage One in Louisville, KY, The New York Fringe Festival, The Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH, and most recently in Emerald and the Love Song of the Dead Fishermen with Nimbus Theatre in Minneapolis.
I am a meticulous, process oriented designer, who values spending time in rehearsal in order to fully integrate my sound with the story being developed. My work thrives on collaboration with directors, actors and design team, and I enjoy being able to compose original music in order to most fully realize the aural world of the play. My years of experience at a major regional theatre tackling shows of all sizes, from new plays to classics makes me well suited for work with your company - I am available for freelance sound design and composition work, and invite you to further explore this website to learn more about me and my work.
